Sync Pro Plans and Billing
Chapter 14: Sync Pro Plans and Billing
Sync Pro is SeaMeet's paid subscription. It's what unlocks the full-length transcript and summary on recordings you create, uncaps the library, enables Meeting Memory across your whole archive, and enables team seats. This chapter covers plan choice, checkout, and what to do when things change.
The plans
- Free. No sign-up cost. Record freely via web recorder, extension, or desktop. See 15 minutes of transcript and summary per recording (rolling reveal window). Library capped at a fixed retention. Sharing works on every plan — recordings you create on free keep their reveal cap for every viewer, including you in the web app.
- Sync Pro (monthly). Individual subscription, billed monthly. Full reveal on every recording you create, uncapped library, full AI summary features, Meeting Memory across your archive.
- Sync Pro (annual). Same as monthly, billed once per year at a discount — the effective per-month rate is meaningfully lower than the monthly plan. Exact numbers on the pricing page.
- Team. Seats in a pack, minimum floor visible on the pricing page. Includes everything in Sync Pro individual + shared team library + one bill for the group. See Chapter 13.
Exact prices, discount percentages, and the team seat floor live on the pricing page. This document intentionally doesn't hard-code them — they change.
What Sync Pro specifically unlocks
Free tier gives you a real, useful product. The paid upgrade unlocks:
- Full reveal on every meeting — no 15-minute cap on transcript or summary.
- Uncapped library — as many recordings retained as you want.
- Meeting Memory across your whole archive — the searchable wiki, ask-box, and per-topic pages (see Chapter 10). Free tier gets a single-recording ask-box only.
- AI summary templates — investor call, medical, deposition, podcast — switch structures freely.
- Speaker labels — rename speakers and the labels propagate everywhere.
- 250 GB of cloud storage — plenty for even a heavy recording user.
- Full-depth sharing — recordings you create play in full for anyone you share them with (a free-tier recording stays capped for every viewer; sharing itself is never quota-limited on any plan).
- Support access — priority support routing.
Team plans add:
- Shared team library.
- Team member filter in library search.
- Single billing for a group.
- Seat management.
Reaching pricing
Any of these lead to the same page:
- Upgrade button anywhere it appears.
- The reveal-cap prompt on any paywalled transcript/summary.
- Entitlement Gate page CTAs (Sync Pro required, Subscription expired).
- Direct URL:
app.seameet.ai/pricing. - Also: See plans link in the Anon-Stop modal.
The pricing page leads with two differentiators — "No bot joins your call — ever" and "Records WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, Telegram, Discord, Skype calls" — with a strip of app logos linking straight into the per-app record pages (Chapter 4). This is deliberate: someone at the pricing page is at a decision point and the "why SeaMeet" story matters.
Checkout
Checkout runs on Stripe. Click the plan you want; you're redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout. Enter payment details, confirm, and you're back at app.seameet.ai/checkout/return with your subscription active.
Signed-in checkout is the normal path. Your email and account are pre-filled, and the subscription binds to your existing account.
Anonymous checkout is supported (a guest can subscribe without a prior account, and the account is created at checkout). One foot-gun: do not open pricing in an incognito tab and check out with a different email than your logged-in account. The subscription binds to whichever email is used in Stripe — if it doesn't match your SeaMeet account, the subscription lives on a throwaway session and your real account stays free. Sign in first, then click Upgrade — the pre-fill guards against this.
Referral and affiliate discounts at checkout
If you arrived via a referral link or an affiliate link, checkout already knows:
- Referral link: A "1 month referral credit" is applied to your first invoice; you and the referrer both get a month of credit when your first payment clears.
- Affiliate link: The affiliate's coupon (e.g. "10% off your first year") is applied automatically — no code to enter.
Since v1.22.0, the offer is visible from the moment you land, not hidden until the Stripe page — so what you're told and what you're charged cannot drift apart. The offer shows on the Sync Pro card on the pricing page so it's still visible at decision time.
See Chapter 15 and Chapter 16.
Managing your subscription — the Stripe Customer Portal
Manage Billing (from Account settings or the Sync Pro-required gate) opens the Stripe Customer Portal in a new tab. From there:
- Update your card.
- View invoices with downloadable PDFs.
- Cancel the subscription (takes effect at period end).
- Switch between monthly and annual — prorates.
- Update billing email and address — used only on invoices; distinct from your SeaMeet sign-in email.
Changes made in the portal sync back to SeaMeet within a minute.
Renewal
Sync Pro renews automatically at the end of each period by default. You get an email a week before annual renewal so you can decide whether to keep it.
Charges happen on the same card that started the subscription. Update expired cards in the portal before the renewal date to avoid a failed-payment flow.
Cancelling
Cancel in the portal. Cancellation:
- Takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep Sync Pro until then.
- Does not delete your recordings or your account.
- Downgrades to free tier at period end. Recordings above the free cap archive (visible but not playable) — resubscribing restores playback with no re-processing.
Un-cancel in the portal before the period ends if you change your mind.
Failed payments
If a renewal charge fails, Stripe retries three times over a two-week window. Meanwhile:
- You get an email at each failed attempt with a link to update the card.
- Sync Pro access continues throughout the retry window.
- If all retries fail, the subscription lapses. You land on Subscription expired on next visit.
Fix by updating the card in the portal — Stripe retries immediately on the new card; if successful the subscription resumes with the correct next-billing date.
Downgrading (Sync Pro → Free)
Cancellation is the downgrade path. There's no "keep some paid features" middle ground.
Cancelling with a lot of Sync Pro recordings in the library: expect them to be archived (not deleted) at period end. Emptying your library before cancelling isn't necessary; resubscribing brings them back.
Signing-in interaction with subscription state
- You subscribed → app still shows Free. Two causes: webhook lag (sign out and back in), OR anonymous checkout with a different email than your account (contact support with both emails; they can merge).
- Card charged twice. Almost always a display artifact — one is authorisation, one is the actual charge. Check the portal's invoice list; if only one invoice, no double charge.
- Need to switch monthly → annual without losing credit. Use the portal's plan switcher — it prorates. Cancelling monthly and starting annual separately forfeits unused monthly time.
- Team lead added you but no Sync Pro features. Sign out and back in — team seat entitlement re-checks on session start.
Refunds
Handled case-by-case via support (email link in Account settings). Automatic refunds aren't available in the portal.
