SeaMeet Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of:

  • SeaMeet Desktop App
  • SeaMeet Cloud Service (including Sync Pro)
  • BYOK Pro ("Bring Your Own Key") plan
  • SeaMeet.ai website and the web library at app.seameet.ai

SeaMeet is a product of Seasalt AI, Inc.

By using SeaMeet, you agree to these Terms.


1. Use of SeaMeet Desktop App

SeaMeet Desktop is provided for personal or organizational use.

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer or modify the software
  • Use SeaMeet to record individuals without proper consent
  • Use SeaMeet for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes

You are responsible for complying with all applicable recording and consent laws.


2. Use of SeaMeet Cloud

SeaMeet Cloud provides online meeting recording, storage, transcription, AI summaries, and cross-device library access.

By using SeaMeet Cloud, you agree that:

  • You have obtained consent from all participants before recording
  • You grant SeaMeet permission to process audio for transcription, summarization, and analysis
  • You will not upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content
  • You will not attempt to evade per-user or per-session limits described in Section 5

SeaMeet may suspend accounts involved in abuse or violations.


3. User Accounts

3.1 Anonymous accounts

When you first open SeaMeet, an anonymous account is created on your device so you can use the free tier without signing up. This account has no email and no personal identity; it is identified by a random user id only.

3.2 Signing in (account linking)

You may sign in with Google, GitHub, or Microsoft to link your anonymous account to a permanent identity. Linking preserves the same user id, so your usage history and free-tier counters carry over. You must provide accurate information when signing in and are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials.

3.3 Inactive anonymous accounts

Anonymous accounts that have never recorded any content and have been inactive for 90 days may be removed automatically. Once an account is linked to a real identity, this auto-cleanup no longer applies.


4. Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of:

  • Your recordings
  • Your transcripts
  • Your meeting content, notes, and wiki

SeaMeet only processes this data to provide the service. See the Privacy Policy for the full data-handling description, including the third-party processors we use for transcription, summarization, storage, and billing.


5. Free Tier, Sync Pro, BYOK Pro, and Billing

SeaMeet offers a free tier and two paid subscriptions: Sync Pro (cloud-assisted) and BYOK Pro ("Bring Your Own Key" — desktop-only with your own AI provider keys). All three are subject to these Terms.

5.1 Free tier

The free tier is provided at no cost and includes:

  • 6 hours of cumulative cloud-assisted transcription as a one-time lifetime pool (shared across anonymous and free signed-in use of the same account). When the pool is exhausted, cloud transcription stops; local recording continues to work.
  • First 15 minutes of any transcript shown. Beyond 15 minutes the remaining transcript is rendered masked until you upgrade to Sync Pro.
  • 20 lifetime Screenshot-OCR runs.
  • 2 GB cloud storage, with cloud copies of free recordings expiring after 30 days. Your original local recording on your device is unaffected.
  • AI features (summaries, action items, chapters) are not generated for free-tier sessions.

5.2 Sync Pro subscription

Sync Pro is currently offered at:

  • $15.99 per month, billed monthly; or
  • $155.88 per year ($12.99 per month effective rate), billed annually.

Sync Pro includes:

  • 250 GB cloud storage for recordings, transcripts, notes, and wiki, with no expiry while your subscription is active.
  • 50 hours per month of imported-file transcription on monthly plans, or 600 hours per year on annual plans.
  • AI summaries, action items, chapters, and topic extraction.
  • Cross-device library access via app.seameet.ai.
  • A per-session cap of 5 hours, applicable to both live recording and imported files, to bound abuse.

5.3 BYOK Pro subscription

BYOK Pro is currently offered at $4.99 per month, billed monthly. There is no annual option for BYOK Pro.

BYOK Pro is a desktop-only plan: SeaMeet acts as a client and all AI processing happens on your device using API keys you provide yourself. BYOK Pro includes:

  • AI transcription, summaries, action items, and chapters powered by your own Gemini and/or Claude API keys (stored locally on your device, encrypted by your operating system's keychain — never on our servers).
  • Optional private backup sync to your own GitHub repository or Google Drive account; SeaMeet never sees those bytes.
  • Full desktop feature set (live transcription during meetings, AI-powered meeting questions and analysis, etc.).

BYOK Pro does not include cloud storage on our servers, cross-device library access via app.seameet.ai, or our managed AI services. Because BYOK Pro routes AI calls through providers you authenticate yourself, you are responsible for any usage charges those providers bill you directly, and your relationship with those providers is governed by their own terms.

5.4 Storage add-ons (Sync Pro only)

You may purchase additional cloud storage in 500 GB units at $10 per unit per month, stackable. Storage add-ons are billed on the same cadence as your Sync Pro subscription and are removed automatically if your Sync Pro subscription ends. Storage add-ons are not available on BYOK Pro (BYOK Pro has no SeaMeet-hosted storage).

5.5 Auto-renewal

Sync Pro subscriptions, BYOK Pro subscriptions, and storage add-ons renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled. You may cancel renewal at any time from the Manage Subscription panel in the app; the subscription remains active until the end of the paid period.

5.6 Price changes

We may change subscription prices, add-on prices, included quotas, or hourly overage rates at any time. We will give at least 30 days' notice before any price change applies to your renewal. Continued use after the renewal date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5.7 Refunds

Subscription charges are non-refundable except as expressly described below, and except where consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise. All sales are final once the refund window closes or once usage exceeds the thresholds in this section.

A one-time refund of a paid Sync Pro or BYOK Pro charge is available, at our discretion, if all of the following are true:

  • (a) You request the refund within 14 days of the charge using the in-app refund option;
  • (b) Your account has not previously received a refund from us under any prior charge;
  • (c) Since the charge in question, your account has used less than 5 hours of cloud-assisted transcription on Sync Pro (applied uniformly to both the monthly and annual plans — the same low cap that protects us from "buy annual, bulk-transcribe, refund" patterns; for BYOK Pro this criterion is waived since transcription is metered against your own provider keys);
  • (d) Since the charge in question, your account has used less than 10% of any storage add-on quota purchased in the same period;
  • (e) Your account is in good standing and has not been flagged for abuse or terms violations under Section 5.8.

We may also decline a refund where we observe a pattern of abuse — for example, subscribing to an annual plan, bulk-importing a large number of files within a short period, and then immediately requesting a refund. In such cases all charges are final and we reserve the right to suspend the account in addition to denying the refund.

A successful refund immediately cancels the subscription and any associated storage add-ons, and revokes access to paid features. Refunds beyond what is described here are at our sole discretion.

5.8 Cancellation and storage on downgrade

If you cancel Sync Pro, the subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period. After it ends, your account reverts to the free tier and any cloud copies of recordings, transcripts, notes, and wiki become subject to the free-tier 30-day expiry. You will receive a notice email approximately 7 days before deletion. Your local recordings remain on your device and are unaffected.

If you cancel BYOK Pro, the subscription remains active until the end of the current billing month. After it ends, the AI features that required a paid subscription become unavailable in the app, but your local recordings, your API keys, and any backups you made to your own GitHub/Google Drive are completely unaffected — we never had access to them in the first place.

5.9 Acceptable use of caps

You agree not to circumvent free-tier or per-plan limits, including by creating multiple accounts to access additional free quota, by running automated scripts to bulk-import content beyond per-session limits, or by intentionally evading the per-session 5-hour cap. You also agree not to use Sync Pro or BYOK Pro in a manner intended to abuse our refund policy under Section 5.7 — for example, by bulk-importing files to consume large portions of plan quota and then attempting to refund. We may apply per-user kill switches and overrides for accounts that abuse caps, suspend accounts engaged in refund-abuse patterns, and deny refunds in such cases.

5.10 Taxes

Prices are quoted exclusive of applicable sales tax, VAT, and similar local taxes, which Stripe will calculate and add at checkout where required by law.


6. AI Features and Consent

Sync Pro includes AI-powered features that send your meeting transcript text to third-party AI providers for summarization, action-item extraction, OCR, and translation. Before any transcript is processed by these providers, you will be asked for explicit consent in the app, and you may disable AI features at any time in Settings → AI Features. The list of providers and what each receives is in the Privacy Policy Section 8. Core recording functionality is available regardless of AI consent.


7. Anonymous Usage Data (Optional)

You may opt in to share anonymous technical diagnostics to help improve SeaMeet. Participation is voluntary and can be disabled at any time in Settings → Privacy & Data.


8. Intellectual Property

SeaMeet, SeaMeet.ai, and all related branding, software, and content are owned by Seasalt AI, Inc.


9. Service Availability

SeaMeet Cloud is provided on a best-effort basis. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will give reasonable notice before materially reducing a feature included in an active Sync Pro plan, or refund the unused portion of the current period if such a reduction makes the plan materially less valuable to you.


10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seasalt AI, Inc. is not liable for:

  • Loss of data
  • Service interruptions
  • Indirect or consequential damages

For paid subscribers, our aggregate liability under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us for Sync Pro and storage add-ons in the twelve months preceding the event that gave rise to the claim. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the service and, if eligible, request a refund under Section 5.6.


11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may stop using SeaMeet at any time and may request deletion of all cloud data as described in the Privacy Policy Section 5.


12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes affecting your rights (including pricing, refund eligibility, and acceptable-use limits) will be notified by email or in-app notice with at least 30 days' lead time before they take effect on your account. Continued use of SeaMeet after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
