SeaMeet

How It Works

Three steps. Zero setup.

01

Webex call starts on your computer

Open Webex and join or start a call as you normally would. No plugins, no extensions, no integrations to configure.

02

SeaMeet detects it automatically — no setup needed

SeaMeet monitors your system audio in the background. The moment a call begins, it recognizes the audio stream and prepares to record.

03

Recording starts invisibly. No bot. No notification to others.

Because SeaMeet captures audio at the system level, there is no bot joining the call, no recording indicator for other participants, and no cloud upload during the call.

What You Get

More than just recording

Invisible recording

No one in the call knows you are recording. No bot joins, no popup appears, no recording badge shows up.

AI transcription

Automatic speech-to-text powered by on-device and cloud AI models. Supports 90+ languages with speaker identification.

AI summaries

Get action items, decisions, and key points extracted automatically after every call. Never write meeting notes again.

Flashback

Forgot to hit record? Flashback saves the last 2 minutes of audio retroactively. Capture what you missed.

Local-first

Recordings stay on your device by default. No cloud upload, no third-party access, no data leaving your machine.

Method 2 · SeaMeet browser recorder

How to record Webex in your browser (no signup)

Runs in Chrome, Edge, or Safari on desktop. Free for the first 15 minutes — Sync Pro removes the cap. No download, no Webex host permissions.

  1. 01

Join the Webex meeting in your browser (web.webex.com)

The Webex web client handles voice, video, and screen shares — you don't need the desktop client. Sign in as an attendee or guest.

  2. 02

Open app.seameet.ai in a second tab

Chrome, Edge, or Safari on desktop. Firefox works with limitations — see the FAQ.

  3. 03

    Record the Webex tab

Pick "A browser tab", select the Webex tab, tick "Share tab audio" — that captures the far-end voices.

  4. 04

    Set the transcription language

Auto-detect covers most cases. Webex calls with cross-timezone teams (US + India, EU + Latin America) work well with auto-detect enabled.

  5. 05

    Start recording

Live transcript streams in the SeaMeet panel. When the meeting ends, recording + transcript + summary land in your library.

Why SeaMeet

What SeaMeet does that Webex Cloud Recording doesn't

  • No plan gate, no admin gate

Webex Cloud Recording requires a paid plan AND admin enablement AND you to be the host. SeaMeet skips all three gates.

  • Guest-friendly

External attendees can't use Webex's recording. SeaMeet doesn't care about your Webex role — attendee, guest, host all record the same way.

  • Live transcript in 20+ languages

Webex's transcript is English-first with limited language support. SeaMeet handles Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, and more natively.

  • Portable file

Webex recordings live in Cisco's cloud and expire based on your workspace retention policy. SeaMeet recordings are yours — download the file, own it forever.

Common questions

Recording Webex — questions & answers

Does Webex notify participants when I record? +
When Webex Cloud Recording is on, all participants see a red REC indicator and hear an audio prompt. SeaMeet is invisible to Webex — the recording happens in your browser. Get consent from participants before recording anyway; it's standard etiquette and often legally required.
Can I record a Webex webinar? +
Yes — Webex Webinars render in the same web client. Attendee-side recording (Method 2 above) works identically to regular meetings. Panelist-side recording is the same. Cisco's native recording for webinars is host/organizer-only and gated to paid plans.
Does it work with Webex's live captions? +
Webex's live captions are transient overlays that disappear when the meeting ends. SeaMeet's tab capture records them (they're part of the screen) AND generates its own independent transcript from the audio. Two transcripts is a bonus, not a conflict.
What about Webex breakout rooms? +
When you're in a breakout room, that's what your Webex tab shows — SeaMeet captures whichever room you're currently in. If you switch rooms during the recording, the transcript follows your room switches automatically.
Can I record a Webex call on my phone? +
The browser recorder needs a desktop browser (mobile browsers don't expose tab-audio capture). On iOS use Control Center → Screen Recording; on Android the Screen Record quick tile. Both capture your side of the audio reliably; the far-end audio depends on OS version. Upload the phone recording to SeaMeet for a transcript.
Does Webex's end-to-end encryption block SeaMeet? +
No. E2E encryption is a wire property — the call is encrypted between your device and Cisco's server. SeaMeet captures the decrypted audio your browser is playing to your speakers. The encryption isn't bypassed; the local playback is captured.
Is it legal to record a Webex meeting? +
Depends on jurisdiction and workplace policy. Most enterprise Webex tenants have written policies about recording — check yours. Two-party-consent jurisdictions require every participant's explicit consent regardless of the tool. When in doubt, announce it.

How SeaMeet Detects Webex

SeaMeet detects Webex via its desktop app process and browser-based sessions. Works with both the Webex desktop client and Webex in the browser.

Why SeaMeet for Webex?

Webex enterprise deployments have strict policies about third-party bots. SeaMeet doesn't touch the Webex API — it captures system audio, so enterprise restrictions don't apply.

Common Use Cases

01

Enterprise meetings where IT restricts recording tools

02

Vendor calls on Webex where you're a guest, not a host

03

Government and defense meetings that use Webex exclusively

04

Training and certification sessions
