How to save a Telegram voice message on Android, iPhone or PC

You can save a Telegram voice message as a file on any device: select it and share it to Files on a phone, or use Save As in Telegram Desktop. The file ends in .ogg. The steps for each device are below, followed by how to turn it into an MP3.

Android

Save a Telegram voice message on Android

The menu you get by tapping and holding a voice message has no save-to-downloads option, so saving goes through Select and the share icon.

    Tap and hold, then tap Select

    In the chat, tap and hold the voice message, then tap Select.

    Tap the share icon

    Tap the share icon at the top of the screen.

    Save it to Files or Drive

    Choose Files or Drive as the place to save it. The file ends in .ogg.

iPhone

Save a Telegram voice message on iPhone

On iPhone, saving also goes through Select and the share icon.

    In the chat, tap and hold the voice message, then tap Select.

    Tap the share icon at the bottom of the screen.

Save a Telegram voice message on a PC or Mac (Telegram Desktop)

In the Telegram Desktop app, a voice message has a Save As option in its right-click menu.

    Choose a folder and save

    Pick where the file should go. It saves as an .ogg file.

Using Telegram in a browser (web.telegram.org)? We haven't verified the steps there. The Telegram Desktop app is the route we could confirm.
No Share or Save option? The group or channel may restrict saving content. When a chat has that setting on, Telegram turns Share and Save off for its messages.
